This is a tale of two girls.
One was busy. No time for herself, barely time for her family. She worked rotating continental shifts, she was always tired, suffered from shortness of breath, diverticular disease, and chronic migraine. Her family missed her, she missed her family, she missed herself.
The second girl is busy too, but it’s different now. She makes time for her herself and her family. She works the same rotating shifts but is full of energy, has stronger lungs, eats non-inflammatory foods, and manages her chronic migraine. She’s not missed because she’s present.
Four Things Needed For Change
There were four things that helped make the difference in my life:
- Healthy Foods – I learned a new way of eating that eliminated stomach pain and helped me feel full. I still enjoy food but it’s no longer my enemy.
- Exercise – The benefits of exercise are exponential and too varied to be discussed in one post. It helped me feel good and lose years of built up weight.
- Personal Development – Takng on a study of oneself can be difficult, you’re facing personal issues that have long been buried. I learned a lot about myself and not stopping anytime soon.
- Online Community – The virtual community comprised of teammates from around the country have supported and loved me through my journey. It’s amazing how women that were once complete strangers have become close friends.
Combining all four started my journey to wellness. I’ve learned the techniques for success and how to share them with others on their own journey.
A tale of two girls has one outcome, I like myself again and never want to go back. I’m happier and life is fulfilling.
That other girl can stay lost, I’m not looking for her anymore.
